Aobo Filter for PC User Guide

Please follow the quick guide below to install and use Aobo Filter for PC.

Install

1. Download Aobo Filter for PC here.
2. Unzip the AoboFilter-Setup.zip and double click AoboFilter-Setup-xx.exe
3. Follow the instructions and complete the install

After install, please press Shift+Alt+F1 on keyboard together to open Aobo Filter.

Register

Aobo Filter for PC offers 3-day free trial for users. If you think Aobo Filter is helpful, please consider purchasing and registering it after the free trial expires.

1. Open Aobo Filter with Shift+Alt+F1 and go to About
2. Click on the key icon above Register and enter the license key
3. Click Register and your filter will be successfully activated

Configure

Block Websites

Aobo Filter is built-in with default porn keywords so that porn websites will be automatically blocked. If you would like to block other websites, please:

Make sure the ON/OFF button in the lower right corner is in “ON” status.

1. Open Aobo Filter with Shift+Alt+F1 and go to Web Filter
2. Click the green plus icon (Add) under the Black list
3. Enter the URL or keyword of the websites you would like to block and click “OK“

Others:

• Amount of keywords detected to trigger filtering
  Selecting a smaller number will impose the filtering level and block more websites.
• Block all websites except the ones in White list
  By checking this option, only websites in the White list are allowed to visit.

Block Apps

Make sure the ON/OFF button in the lower right corner is in “ON” status.

1. Open Aobo Filter with Shift+Alt+F1 and go to App Filter
2. Drag the applications you would like to block into the blank window

Aobo Filter offers a quick list of frequently used programs on the left sidebar, you can block any of them by checking the box.

Check History

Aobo Filter will record what websites are blocked and users can easily check the blocking history.

1. Open Aobo Filter with Shift+Alt+F1 and go to Filter Logs
2. Check the list of websites blocked with keywords detected and date

Options

To change other settings, please open Aobo Filter with Shift+Alt+F1 and go to Options.

Change hot key

1. Move the mouse to the hot key box and click on it
2. Press a 3-key combination on the keyboard
3. Click Save Settings and the hot key will be changed to the new one

Change password

1. Enter the new password and confirm it in the blank box below
2. Type the password hint if you find it necessary
3. Click Save Settings and the password will be changed to the new one

Uninstall

1. Open Aobo Filter with Shift+Alt+F1 and go to About
2. Click on the trash icon above Uninstall and click OK
3. Restart your computer to complete the uninstall

If it doesn’t work, please download this and run Uninstall-AoboFilter-xx.exe to remove Aobo Filter
